On Feeling Behind
There was a time when I quietly believed I was behind
Behind in clarity.
Behind in confidence.
Behind in execution.
I would look at other women building, launching, speaking, moving and I would question my pace. I mistook steadiness for slowness. Reflection for hesitation. Depth for delay.
But what I did not understand then is this:
I wasn’t behind.
I was building foundation.
Some of us are not meant to move quickly. We are meant to move deliberately. To question deeply. To refine before we reveal.
And in business, that matters.
Because when you rush growth without internal alignment, you build something that looks strong but feels unstable.
What I have learned through rebuilding, through refining, through choosing patience over pressure is that depth creates sustainability.
Self-belief is not loud.
Clarity is not instant.
Confidence is not constant.
It is developed.
And the woman you think is “ahead” of you?
She likely spent years strengthening what you cannot see.
So if you feel behind today, I want you to pause before judging your pace.
Ask yourself:
Am I actually behind or am I building depth?
There is a difference.
And depth is not visible in the early stages.
But it is what holds everything together later.
—
You are not late.
You are becoming with structure.
And that is enough for today.
